Yeastar hotel PMS interface: OPERA, FIAS and what it takes
A Yeastar P-Series talks to a hotel’s property management system through a PMS interface. For Oracle Hospitality OPERA it is an Oracle Validated Integration over IFC8 using the FIAS protocol; for other systems it is the same FIAS path, a vendor connector, or middleware. The interface needs the hotel add-on and a P550, P560 or P570. Once it is running, check-in, check-out, room status, wake-up calls and call charges move between the front desk and the phones without anyone re-keying them.

What the integration does
| At the front desk | In the room | On the bill |
|---|---|---|
| Check-in opens the room phone for outside calls and puts the guest’s name on it | The guest’s name shows on staff phones when the room calls | Call charges post to the folio automatically, with the rate the hotel sets |
| Check-out closes the line, clears the voicemail and resets the phone | Wake-up calls set from the front desk or by the guest from the room phone; failed calls are flagged for redial | Minibar charges posted from the room phone by dialling an item code, in whichever of two modes the PMS supports |
| Room moves carry the guest’s settings to the new room | Do-not-disturb set from the PMS puts the phone in DND | A branded invoice and a call accounting record |
| Housekeeping updates room status from the phone with maid codes | Calls from an unoccupied room to the outside are blocked | Guest stay history with past rooms and charges, exportable |
Yeastar’s hotel solution also provides a room panel for one-click check-in and check-out, a wake-up call task view with status filters, and settings for room types, housekeeping and repair statuses, call rules and wake-up rules.
Oracle Hospitality OPERA
Yeastar holds an Oracle Validated Integration for OPERA. The documented requirements, as of our check on 4 November 2026:
| Requirement | Value |
|---|---|
| OPERA | OPERA 5 version 5.6 or later, OPERA Cloud, or Micros Fidelio |
| Interface | Hotel Property Interface IFC8 8.15.0.0 or later, FIAS 2.20.25 |
| Yeastar edition | P-Series Appliance Edition or Software Edition |
| Appliance model | P550, P560 or P570. The P520 does not support PMS integration |
| Licence | Hotel PMS integration add-on. Yeastar offers a 30-day trial of the add-on |
| Firmware | The published guides give two different minimums; we confirm the current one with Yeastar before quoting |
The connection is a network link between the PBX and the OPERA interface server. There is no cloud relay in the path, which is one of the reasons we recommend the appliance for hotels: the link that posts your call revenue stays inside the building.
Other property management systems
Yeastar’s hospitality page names Micros Fidelio, “char”, JDS and easylynq alongside OPERA, and states that any PMS supporting the FIAS protocol can be integrated. For a system that does not speak FIAS, the options are PMS middleware or the Yeastar API.
We phrase this carefully on purpose: the P-Series has a PMS interface, not a list of certified systems. Before we quote a hotel we ask which PMS and which version it runs, and we confirm the path with Yeastar for that combination. If the answer is “middleware” we say so, with the cost.
What we have connected so far. Oracle OPERA, at a full-service branded hotel we support under agreement. That is the interface most Canadian full-service properties run, and the one Yeastar documents most completely. We do not name customers on this site; a reference conversation can be arranged through the hotel’s general manager.
What a takeover looks like
Most hotels that come to us already have a PMS interface on an older phone system, often undocumented. The sequence:
- Health Check. We record which PMS, which version, which interface server, which room connects to which port, and whether the current call-accounting path is actually posting. We have found properties where it was not, and nobody knew.
- Interface in a test window. The new P-Series connects to the OPERA interface in parallel with the old system where the PMS allows it, and we check in and out a test room until every event posts.
- Cut over outside peak, with the old system kept powered for a defined period.
- Monthly report of call charges posted, under the support agreement. Every failed call charge is revenue that never reaches the folio.
Frequently asked questions
Does the integration work on the Cloud Edition?
Yeastar’s published OPERA guide covers the Appliance and Software editions. Hotels are appliance sites for us in any case, because the room phones are analog and the interface should not depend on an internet link.
Can guests set their own wake-up calls?
Yes, from the room phone, with the time confirmed by voice prompt. The front desk sees every scheduled call and any that failed.
What if the hotel changes PMS?
The P-Series interface is reconfigured, not replaced. A PMS change is a common moment for a phone-system review and a good moment for a Health Check, because the old interface’s settings are usually undocumented.
Will the integration post calls to the right room after a room move?
Yes, if the room move is done in the PMS. The interface carries the guest’s record to the new room.
