The Telephony Health Check
In an office, a phone outage is an inconvenience. In your building, it is an incident. Elevator phones. Area-of-refuge stations. The fire panel’s line. A guest, a resident or a student dialling 911 and expecting someone to arrive. Those are telephone circuits. When did anyone last check that they work?

What it is
A fixed-fee assessment of the phone system in your building, and a written report you can act on, or hand to a board, an insurer or an auditor.
| We look at | What you get |
|---|---|
| What you actually have | Every device, every line, documented, including which room connects to which port. Most buildings have no such record |
| Whether it could be rebuilt | Is the configuration backed up? Has anyone ever tested a restore? |
| What happens when someone dials 911 | Where the call goes, what location travels with it, whether the office or front desk is told |
| Whether the life-safety circuits work | Elevator phones, refuge stations, pool phones, the fire panel’s path |
| Where the money leaks | Unbilled call charges, lines nobody uses, licences paid for twice |
| What it would cost to fix | Prioritised: what matters first, what can wait |
A written report, a documented inventory, and a conversation about what to do next. No obligation to do any of it with us.
The fee
| Property | Fee (CAD, plus GST) |
|---|---|
| Single site | $1,500 |
| Multi-building or campus | $2,500 |
Fixed, in Canadian dollars plus GST, agreed before we start. Half a day on site for a single site, a full day for a larger property.
Why we do this before we quote a support agreement
We do not put a response time in writing against a system we have not seen. If the configuration is undocumented, nobody has verified a backup and the emergency-calling posture is unknown, a promise to restore service in four hours is a promise made with somebody else’s hand. The Health Check is how we find out, and how you find out, whether you work with us afterwards or not.
What we tend to find: nothing broken. Everything working. And nobody could have put it back if it stopped.
What happens next
- Half a day on site, a full day for a larger property.
- The report, usually within a week.
- A conversation about what to fix, in what order.
- If you want it, a quote for the work, and a support agreement with a response time in writing.
Frequently asked questions
We are not in Calgary.
On site across Alberta. For a site elsewhere in Canada we quote the visit, or do a remote documentation pass first and say what it cannot verify.
Our system is not Yeastar.
The Health Check is about the building, not the brand. We assess whatever is there.
Will you tell us if it is fine?
Yes, in writing. A healthy system with its first complete inventory is a good outcome.
Fee set 3 October 2026.
