Yeastar-certified SIP trunk providers in Canada
Yeastar lists ten SIP trunk providers as certified for Canada. Certification means the provider’s trunk has been tested against the Yeastar PBX for interoperability and has a published configuration template in the system; it does not say anything about the provider’s network, support or pricing. Our own trunks are on that list through the Heliatel certification lineage, which is why our support agreements include them: one party then sees the whole path from the handset to the carrier.

The list, as Yeastar publishes it
Checked 4 November 2026 on Yeastar’s Canada partner page, in Yeastar’s order:
- BV Communications
- Convergia Networks
- IXICA
- HeliaTel Premium
- RingOffice
- UnitedCloud
- VoiceMeUp
- VoIP.ms
- Voxtelesys
- Telxi Limited
Yeastar keeps a separate list of providers supported on its Cloud Edition. We check both lists quarterly and update this page.
What certification means
- Tested interoperability. The provider and Yeastar have tested registration, inbound and outbound calling, DTMF, codecs and the common features against the PBX, and resolved what did not work.
- A template in the PBX. A certified provider appears in the trunk setup with its settings pre-filled, which removes a class of configuration mistakes.
- A support path. When something between the trunk and the PBX misbehaves, both parties have a known baseline to test against.
What it does not mean
- Nothing about call quality on a given day, which depends on the provider’s network and the customer’s connection.
- Nothing about 911 handling, which depends on the provider’s registration of the address and on the PBX configuration, and which we test regardless of provider.
- Nothing about support hours, response, or who answers.
- Nothing about price.
A non-certified provider can work perfectly well with manual configuration. Certification is a reasonable default, not a requirement.
Why our agreements include our trunks
Our Fully Managed and Support agreements require North Star SIP trunks, alongside a Yeastar remote-management licence. The reason is accountability, not revenue: when a customer keeps a third-party carrier, there is a part of the call path we cannot see, and a fault there becomes a conversation between three parties at the worst possible time. With our trunks, a critical fault at 3 a.m. has one party responsible for the PBX, the trunk and the circuits, and no one to point at.
Where a customer wants to keep its own carrier, we say yes, price the agreement differently, and are honest about what we cannot see.
The Heliatel certification lineage is the interoperability certification our trunks carry on Yeastar’s list. It is a technical lineage, and we use the name only in that sense.
Frequently asked questions
Our current provider is not on the list. Do we have to change?
No. The trunk is configured by hand and tested. The support agreement prices differently with a third-party carrier.
Does certification cover the Cloud Edition?
Yeastar maintains a separate supported-provider list for the Cloud Edition. Check that list for Tribe.
Can we port our numbers to your trunks?
Yes, with a letter of authorisation. The losing carrier sets the timing; we plan the cutover around it.
